Edward (Ted) Finch is a shareholder out of Lavin, Cedrone, Graver, Boyd & DiSipio’s Philadelphia office. His practices focuses on defending mass tort and toxic tort matters on a local, regional and national basis involving automotive products, telecommunications and industrial equipment as well as premises liability claims.

Mr. Finch jointly serves as National Coordinating Counsel for a Fortune 500 telecommunication company managing the defense of its mass tort cases throughout the United States in state and federal courts. His responsibilities extends to all phases of case development including substantial document and discovery-related issues including, preparation and defending corporate and company witnesses, corporate history investigation, motion practice and representation at trial.

He also serves as national discovery coordinator for the engine division of a major North American truck manufacturer responsible for the investigation coordination of discovery and the preparation and defense of corporate witnesses.

Mr. Finch earned his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law – Wilmington, Delaware in 1998 and obtained undergraduate degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts in 1992.

He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania state courts and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Finch was invited to attend and successfully completed the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy at Stanford University School of Law. Mr. Finch sat on a panel during a breakout session (Applying the Brakes: Updating the Friction Defenses) at DRI’s Asbestos Medicine Conference and spoke on the topic of Maximizing the Opportunity for Early Resolution.

Personal

In his spare time, Mr. Finch enjoys spending time with his family, enjoys watching sports, especially baseball and football, is a crazed Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He also volunteers coaching his son’s soccer team and is active in his son’s Cub Scout Pack.
