Mr. Graver, a native Philadelphian, is a trial attorney (having tried 56 jury trials to verdict), shareholder and member of his firm’s Board of Directors. His focus is on defense litigation with specific areas of practice in product liability, premises liability, insurance defense, commercial and employment litigation.
Mr. Graver has served as national counsel for a major automotive manufacturer in a defined class of cases. He has defended a foreign pharmaceutical company in hundreds of stroke cases in multi-district litigation, with no settlement payments or adverse verdicts. He currently serves as regional coordinating counsel for a national Fortune 500 client in a nine state region, and has represented a global manufacturer of security and safety products involving hundreds of product liability claims.
He has been honored by Law 360, a national legal publication, as one of only seven national Product Liability MVPs (among its list of “Favorite Product Liability Counsel), based upon a poll of national corporate general counsel; has the singular distinction of having been named for three consecutive years as a product liability All-Star; and was named a client Service All-Star.
In more than 35 years of practice, Mr. Graver has successfully tried 48 cases to defense verdicts before juries throughout the United States in product liability, premises liability, catastrophic injury, negligence, employment and commercial matters. He has also successfully tried age/gender discrimination and employee termination cases on behalf of two of the firm’s Fortune 100 corporate clients, who have honored him with awards acknowledging his long-standing service.
Throughout his career, Mr. Graver has won defense verdicts for manufacturers of pharmaceutical products, construction equipment, industrial machinery, elevators, automobiles/automotive components, garden and consumer products, involving varied claims such as crashworthiness, wrongful death, brain injury, negligence and electrocution.
Examples of Mr. Graver’s most significant defense verdicts include:
· Claim of a defective back-up alarm involving a lower leg amputation.
· Front-end loader crashworthiness trial involving brain-injured plaintiff seeking multi-million dollar recovery.
· Seatbelt claim involving a brain-damaged plaintiff with multi-million dollar exposure to client; case received significant media coverage.
Mr. Graver graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia; and earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia.
He is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania; the Eastern, Southern and Western Districts of New York; the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania; and the Supreme Court of New York (Third Judicial Department); and has been admitted pro hac vice in multiple states in the U.S.
Mr. Graver has been a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New York Bar Associations. He maintains an active practice in both Pennsylvania and New York, as well as surrounding states.
Mr. Graver has been active in his community, having served two terms as a member of the board of directors of the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation.
